Measuring a Mission Built on Connection

Veterans & First Responders Served: Over 550

Retreats Held: 50 day-long retreats (6 hours) and 45 mini-retreats (3 hours) were hosted in a single year.

Carriage Driving: 12 driving sessions were held, benefiting 54 participants.

Total Program Hours: The organization facilitated over 2,200 hours of therapeutic programming annually.

Equine Rehabilitation: The ranch houses long-term residents and rescues/trains troubled horses (such as retired racehorses) preparing them for future adoption.

FEATURED STORY
A QUIET CONNECTION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
When Michael first came to Warrior Ranch, he was not sure what to expect. The Army veteran had spent years carrying experiences he rarely spoke about, and being around other people often felt exhausting. But during his first visit, a rescued horse named Willow quietly approached him and stood nearby.
There was no pressure to talk and nothing he needed to explain. Michael simply brushed Willow and walked beside her. Week after week, the same calm routine helped him slow down, remain present, and begin trusting the connection they were building.
Willow had her own difficult history and was cautious around unfamiliar people. As Michael became more confident, she did too. Their progress was gradual, but each visit brought another small step forward.

Second Chances for People and Horses
The impact of Warrior Ranch flows in both directions. Horses help create opportunities for trust, presence, patience, and connection. At the same time, the Warrior Ranch community provides care, safety, purpose, and support for horses in need.
Some horses arrive with histories that require patience and compassion. Through daily care and a supportive environment, they become part of a larger mission. Their presence helps veterans, first responders, families, and volunteers experience the power of connection in a way that words alone often cannot provide.
