Directed and produced by Warrior Ranch Founder and President Eileen Shanahan and Media Specialist Danielle Altebrando, this powerful documentary explores the often overlooked struggles of veterans living with PTS and the healing potential of equine connection. We congratulate them on an extraordinary film.
An integral figure in the story is Warrior, the rescue horse whose own journey from abuse and neglect helped inspire the founding of Warrior Ranch. His resilience continues to reflect the mission at the core of our work: fostering trust, recovery, and connection between veterans and rescue horses.
Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us. The mission isn't over.

LI News Radio's Mike Sapraicone interviewed Warrior Ranch's Founder and President Eileen Shanahan and Steve Castleton, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, on his "Street Smart" show. The conversation ranged from how the Foundation began, to the high rate of suicide among veterans and first responders to how horses help those with PTSD. SUICIDE TRAINING FOR LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS
Many thanks to the Times-Review Newspapers and Nick Grasso for the coverage of our two-day ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) course that we held for local first responders, health care workers and others. Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital and the Center for Suicide Prevention of New York sponsored the event. We were honored to host this seminar, offering another tool in helping people who have given up hope find reasons not to die by suicide.
