Dreary weather no longer stops warrior ranch!

Rainy, dreary weather did not stop Warrior Ranch from holding it's retreat.  Why, because we have an indoor arena :)

This is directly due to the generosity of NY Cancer and Blood and Footing First as well as the hard labor of Ed Barrett and Glenn Carboni.

What a great day it turned out to be. Participant who have been coming to the Ranch for some time, stepped up their game a bit, working with Sully, Schmay and Butterscotch. What a successful day!

LI News Radio's Mike Sapraicone interviewed Warrior Ranch's Founder and President Eileen Shanahan and Steve Castleton, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, on his "Street Smart" show.  The conversation ranged from how the Foundation began, to the high rate of suicide among veterans and first responders to how horses help those with PTSD. Mike is a retired NYPD detective, a great host and conversationalist. Mike also owns Squad Security; Global Security Services & Investigations.  Click here for the full interview.
Thank you Mike for your generosity!!!

Welcome usmc general robert ruark

USMC 3-star General Robert Ruark and his wife Chris Coetzee, also USMC, visited Warrior Ranch to learn about the equine therapy and horse rescue program, and also meet the herd. Sully, Schmay & Butterscotch basked in the attention and the extra workout. Turns out the visit was Chris Coetzee's special birthday request. We like her style! And we hope they visit again!

Due to Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD),  22 veterans commit suicide every day.

Due to neglect or retirement from race or show careers, there are over 100,000 unwanted horses.

Equine assisted therapy has been proven to reduce symptoms of PTSD.

Through horse interaction, Warrior Ranch provides a safe haven of healing and well being for veterans, first responders and horses.
