warrior ranch's first adoption!

Adoption Day at Warrior Ranch! Happy trails to Butterscotch, who went home with USMC Veteran Ryan Secor and Doreen Soukup. We are so pleased that our first adoption went to a veteran who has been an active part of the ranch, as both a participant and a volunteer. We will miss Butterscotch and his antics at the ranch, but we are so happy to know he will be in a great home. Congratulations Ryan and Doreen!

LI News radio - "street smart"!

LI News Radio's Mike Sapraicone interviewed Warrior Ranch's Founder and President Eileen Shanahan and Steve Castleton, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, on his "Street Smart" show. The conversation ranged from how the Foundation began, to the high rate of suicide among veterans and first responders to how horses help those with PTSD. Mike is a retired NYPD detective, a great host and conversationalist. Mike also owns Squad Security; Global Security Services & Investigations. Click here for the full interview.
Thank you Mike for your generosity!!!
fun was had by all at our first riding retreat!
Our Veterans Day Weekend Retreat marked a significant "FIRST" in the history of Warrior Ranch when we saw a veteran participant saddle up and ride a horse for the first time as part of our Equine Therapy Program. Congratulations to Joe, astride Chance in the photo, for being the first veteran in our program to ride and control a horse. The therapeutic team, comprised of Eileen, Juliette, Gina (Iron Horse Fields Inc.), Catherine Wilvert and Joe, was nearby to assist if needed.

warrior ranch welcomes josh lyons!
It was an amazing week at Warrior Ranch! Josh Lyons came and spent 2 days with veterans and then a 3-day clinic in which some of our advanced participants took part in. Matt Pitt, US Army Veteran, Green Beret, and great horseman, assisted Josh in the clinic. Josh did some work with "Sully" and "Ranger" too!. Warrior Ranch has some good horses :). Thank you Josh!
